academic assessment

Assessment Philosophy:
Redeemer Christian Academy believes that assessment is an essential component of the learning process. Assessment is a continuous process that encompasses both formative and summative assessments to measure a student’s needs and progress. Assessments are used in correlation with academic standards.

Standardized Testing:
All students in grades 3-8 participate in the NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) every fall and spring. The data obtained from the testing assists the teacher in addressing the students’ academic needs and curriculum development for their class.

ACCELERATED READER

Accelerated Reader is a program that helps encourage, manage and monitor independent reading practice. Students choose “just right for me” independent reading books in their “zone” and then earn points through online quizzes on these books. Teachers regularly monitor student progress to help celebrate and support student success.
