SCHOOL CLOSINGS or DELAYS
During times of inclement weather, Redeemer Christian Academy will most often follow the lead of Wayzata Public Schools. If Wayzata schools are closed, are closing early, or will be starting late, Redeemer Christian Academy will normally do the same. However, there may also be circumstances that will find Redeemer Christian Academy open, closed, closing early, or starting late independent from what Wayzata Schools may do.
School Closing/Delay Procedure for Inclement Weather
Our staff understands that our decision to close school or delay the start of school in bad weather has a big effect on families. We also understand that our students are better served — both academically and socially — by being in school. But, as always, our top priority is the safety of our students. Please make sure we have the most up-to-date email addresses on your TADS account.
No School/Delayed Start: If severe weather conditions or an emergency indicate that school should be closed or delayed, a decision will be made as soon as possible. WCCO-TV will be informed and you will be informed by email through the contacts you designated on your TADS account. If we should close, before and after school care and sports activities will also be cancelled for the day. Before school care, AM preschool/prekindergarten and AM kindergarten will be cancelled if we are delayed. This information will be shared in the announcement sent to you.
Closing Early: If severe weather conditions or an emergency indicate that school should be closed before the end of the regular school day, a decision to close school early or to have an early dismissal will be made as soon as possible. WCCO-TV will be informed and you will be informed by email through the contacts you designated on your TADS account. After school care and sports activities will also be cancelled for the day. We would appreciate that you pick up your child as early as possible from ESC on these days so our staff can get home safely, too.
Need to Make Your Own Decision? Although we do our absolute best in this process, we know that no perfect decision exists. If you do not feel as though it is safe for you to drive and/or get your child to school, we understand. Use your best judgment on whether he or she should attend and make sure to call in to our attendance line at 952.473.5356 (push 4) to let us know your child(ren) will be absent due to road conditions.
